I lost the meaning of love
Not that you said it
But through your eyes
I swore they carried it

You said to trust
Our shared feelings
You told me to believe
Intimacy wasn’t the only reason
For staying those two seasons

But then you left…
After I took your word for it.

So tell me how,
How should I know
When to trust the ones
Who swear they won’t
Let me go, that
I’m the one.

Is love different from
Letting men get what they want…
Because you confused me
And now I don’t want
To look in another’s eyes
As they tell me fluff
And make the same mistake
That I made with you,
Losing myself to love
And the meaning of trust
That because of you,
Can’t be undone.
