Low Tides and the Sunrise/Alejandrina Ross

We were chasing low tides and the sunrise
With the look of adventure in our eyes
Hoping we would break the ties 
Of the world and all its lies
Telling us to just work until we die
We were living our lives 
With the past behind
And nothing but the present in our minds

Alejandrina Ross is a Spanish and Political Science major from La Crosse, WI who enjoys connecting with friends, traveling, and writing poetry! Since she was young, she has been writing, but recently has found the confidence to share her work with the world. Poetry and dance have been creative and emotional releases for Alejandrina, especially in the last five years. These poems have been written over the past two years of her life and are about topics close to her heart such as her faith and relationship with Jesus, love, and excitement for life and adventure.
